Class Conduct:
While in class, each student is expected to show respect for the instructor and the other members of the class. Our students are taught respect and we show them respect. We expect each student to participate fully during class, however, no student is expected to do any more than what he/she is capable of doing.
A dance education is an excellent way to build discipline and character. The key element to achieve this goal is to see each student as individually important, while at the same time seeing him/her as important to the class as a whole. If a problem arises regarding a student's behavior, the instructor will speak to the student and parent before her/his progress in the program is disturbed.
Proper Dress:
Each student is expected to dress for each class according to the Dance Lakewood uniform requirements. Hair and cover-ups are included in the dress code.
Snow Day Closings:
Dance Lakewood snow day closing announcements will be emailed to all families by 2pm on days with severely inclement weather. Information will also be posted on the Dance Lakewood Facebook & Instagram pages.
Make-up Class Policy:
If a student misses a class, they are welcome to make-up in a different class at a similar level. Please ask your teacher or email the office staff for a recommendation of an appropriate make-up class.
Student Promotions:
All students are eligible for promotion to a higher class level if recommended by the instructor and agreed upon by the parent.
Withdrawal Policy:
The family is responsible for withdrawing from a class by notifying Dance Lakewood in writing via email. The class fee payment for any month is non-refundable once the month is in session.
Recital:
Deposits placed on recital or competition costumes are non-refundable. Recital or competition costumes paid in full will be distributed in class only if all current tuition balances have been paid. Any costume not picked up within two months after the end of the session will be forfeited and become the property of Dance Lakewood.
